How Joining Works

Recruitment Guidelines

Three levels with published promotion rules.

Levels are based on contribution, skill growth, commitment, documentation, and leadership. Results are confidential, but the criteria are public.

Level 3

Registered Participant

Join talks, workshops, demonstrations, and introductory activities while exploring which technical area fits you.

Level 2

Developing Member

Receive training, join internal projects, complete practical tasks, and build foundational competence in at least one domain.

Level 3 to Level 2

Four visible artifacts show foundation and contribution.

70% Workshop and training attendance over one semester.
1 Foundational skills evaluation passed.
Project Contribution to at least one project.
Endorsement Support from one Level 1 member or PhD supervisor.

Mid-Semester Check-In

Members receive a mid-semester check-in and end-of-semester evaluation.

Written Notice

Before demotion, members receive written notice, a mentor, and an improvement plan.

4 Weeks

Members complete a probation period with mentor support.

1 Week Appeal

Appeals can be submitted within one week with supporting evidence.

Re-Promotion

Re-promotion is possible after one full semester of demonstrated improvement.
